Training for New Reference Centres
Wicab, Inc. provides BrainPort balance device training for Physiotherapists and other medical personnel. Your medical staff will be trained by our qualified Physical Therapist at your facility. A demonstration of a standard training procedure with a subject from your patient population can be arranged. By the end of this training, your staff will be prepared to train and support your patients on the use of the BrainPort balance device. Following onsite training, the Wicab Physical Therapy team is available by phone or e-mail for additional support for your staff.

Training for Patients
Clinic training is required prior to using the BrainPort balance device. BrainPort training typically includes patients completing 4-6 hours of individualized training with a therapist over 2-3 consequtive days in the clinic. Following the clinic training, patients are able to continue training with the BrainPort balance device independently at home. The recommended home use is typically 2-20 minute training sessions each day.
During the clinic training, patients are instructed on the proper use of the device while following an optimized BrainPort training protocol. Patients are instructed in their home training position and the recommended home use. Most patients will experience improvements in balance, posture and gait within the first eight weeks of a consistent use of the BrainPort balance device.
